To provide an Emergency Management Program to plan for, respond to, and recover from any natural or man-made disaster.

Daily posting of weather information on website
Posting time urgent weather information on the website
Using the website to promote seasonal weather issues
Using the website to increase safety awareness for: at risk, working and general populations during periods of increased weather related accident and injuries.
Working with the local forecast office, placing significant outdoor and indoor community gatherings for direct notification in the event of severe weather.
Using various venues to handout weather safety printed materials to the at risk, working and general populations
Promoting the use of weather alert radios for home and businesses.
Assisting in the creation of emergency plans that address actions required during severe weather
Conduct monthly tests of the outdoors warning sirens and the communication system used to talk with local emergency management agencies throughout the county.
Stressing the importance of conducting sheltering drills
Hosting annual NWS spotter training within the County.
What does being an Ambassador mean to you?
Educating and informing the citizens of the county on weather related issues.
Keeping the citizens aware of the most current practices and notification systems available to them
Maintaining a proactive approach for better preparing the citizens on season weather.
Working with the NWS before, during and after severe weather to help quantify their radar and forecasts to what has actually occurred on the ground.
Being able to utilize resources of the NWS to assist in plotting of chemical plumes and the effects of weather changes for the emergency responders and the at risk populations.
