Tornadoes of November 29-30, 2016

Event Summary for Central Alabama

A robust, yet slow moving, weather system produced tornadoes,damaging winds and some hail across Central Alabama. Several incidents occurred north of Interstate 20/59 and west of Interstate 65 Tuesday evening November 29th. Additional severe weather occurred during the early morning hours on Wednesday November 30th near the US 80 and Interstate 85 corridor.

Eleven tornadoes have been confirmed across Central Alabama. Damage occurred in Pickens, Lamar, Marion, Fayette, Winston, Marengo, Hale Lee and Chambers Counties. This storm system produced damage from Texas to the Carolinas.
