Dangerous Heat in the Central and Eastern U.S.; Severe Thunderstorms in the Great Lakes

Thunderstorms with strong wind gusts and hail will be possible today from Michigan into the Lower Great Lakes region. Overview

Strong thunderstorms developed along and ahead of a warm front that lifted north into eastern Iowa and northern Illinois Wednesday afternoon and evening. Several funnel clouds were reported with these storms, and 3 brief tornadoes touched down in Bureau county in Illinois, with little to no damage.  Additional tornadoes developed further east in Lee and La Salle counties in northern Illinois.
