Weekend Showers and Thunderstorms Over the Southeast U.S.

A slow moving storm system over the northern Gulf Coast will continue periods of showers and thunderstorms over much of the Southeast U.S. through this weekend. A frontal boundary will slowly move across the state from west to east this weekend, generating a chance of thunderstorms for portions of northeast Montana. Some enhanced thunderstorms may generate strong wind gusts in excess of 50 mph and possible one inch hail.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible across much of northeast Montana Sunday, as a frontal boundary moves eastward across the region. There is a risk that some thunderstorms Sunday may be able to generate wind gusts near 60mph or hail to one inch in diameter.
The full moon for May is known as the Flower Moon which is due to all the springtime flower blooms. Also known as the Planting Moon as this is the time of year many spring crops are planted. It will be a micromoon as the moon will be the furthest away from earth around the time of the full moon.
