Heavy Rainfall Continues in South Florida, Southern Rockies, and the Northern Plains

A stationary front will continue to bring heavy to excessive rainfall to South Florida into Saturday with localized and urban flooding possible. Heavy to excessive rainfall is forecast through Saturday over the southern Rockies into the northern Plains. Instances of flash flooding are possible, especially in higher terrain and burn scars. A warm, dry stretch continues for southeast Louisiana and coastal Mississippi, with comfortable clear nights and toasty, mostly sunny days. Keep the water handy and give pets a cool spot to rest.
NHC’s 7-Day Tropical Weather Outlook shows a newly added disturbance (orange hatched area) in the east Atlantic with a medium (60%) chance of development this week. No local impacts are expected for SE Louisiana or South Mississippi. We’ll continue to monitor and update.
