Another Round of Heavy Rain and Mountain Snow in California; Snow in the Great Lakes and Northeast

Another round of heavy rainfall will renew concerns for additional flash flooding and landslides in southern California around burn scars and coastal mountain ranges. A low pressure system is bringing enhanced snowfall downwind from the lower Great Lakes into the Northeast mountain ranges. We have issued Winter Weather Advisories for the Tahoe Basin & Mono county. Snow is expected to continue into Monday. Snowfall rates will be the highest early Monday, bringing impacts to the Mon AM commute, especially for the Tahoe Basin.
An additional Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Mono county, in effect from 7am Monday until 7am Tuesday. The Winter Weather Advisory for the Tahoe Basin remains unchanged and goes until 4pm Monday.
Travel over Sierra passes will be difficult ahead of the Monday morning commute due to heavy snow. Expect travel delays, low visibilities, and chain controls. For road conditions, please go to QuickMap (CA) and NVRoads (NV).
