In an unusual welcome to June, a very late season cold front will cross the area Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. Light to even moderate rain can be expected all along the coast with over 1 inch of rain in Del Norte County. After several weeks of dry weather, oil build up on roadways will contribute to particularly slick conditions. Be cautious when driving!
After rain Sunday, cool conditions won't last for long. Very hot temperatures will return mid next week with many parts of Mendocino and Lake Counties reaching above 100. These conditions will bring the first major heat risk of the summer especially in Lake County where night time lows will struggle to drop below 65. Make sure to stay cool and hydrated!
