Tracking Late Season Winter Storms

A moderate atmospheric river will continue to bring heavy snow over the Olympics, northern Cascades and northern Rockies Friday while heavy rain may bring flooding to coastal Oregon and Washington. Northwest winds will diminish and become northerly this evening, allowing colder Canadian air to spill into the area. Look for temperatures to drop off tonight into the teens to the mid 20s.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from midnight tonight through 6 pm Saturday for Garfield, Petroleum, and SW Phillips Counties. Heavy snow will move into the warning area late tonight night and continue through Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, the remainder of northeast Montana will have light snow more likely on Saturday.
