There will be multiple days later this week into this weekend with chances for severe storms. The severe storm threat begins Thursday and continues on Saturday into Sunday. Severe storms could produce large hail, damaging wind, and tornadoes during this time frame.

The potential for severe thunderstorms will return to the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles on Thursday. A few isolated thunderstorms may form across the central on Thursday afternoon into the evening. These storms could become severe, with large hail and damaging winds being the primary hazards. Stay up to date with any changes to the forecast as we get closer to Thursday.

Severe thunderstorms will be possible on both Saturday and Sunday across portions of the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. The potential on Saturday is more widespread and Sunday highlights only the east. Since we are still quite a few days out from this weekend, these areas will shift and change over the coming days, so be sure to keep up to date with the severe storm forecasts.

With the start of strong to severe storms on Thursday and again Friday, we will start to have some chances at wetting rainfall. Add to it the fairly broad weather system that's coming for the weekend, and we have a decent chance of at least a half an inch of rain, and a low to medium chance of an inch of rain by the end of the weekend for the Panhandles. Best chances in the southeast, and lowest chances in the northwest.

Warming trend on the way ahead of some active weather we expect this later this week and into the weekend. Highs will approach the upper 70s to lower 80s on Wednesday. We may get enough instability for an isolated storm or two in the northeast Panhandles Wednesday evening.
