Last Map Update: Tue, Apr 7, 2026 at 9:34:15 am CDT

There will be multiple days later this week into this weekend with chances for severe storms. The severe storm threat begins Thursday and continues on Saturday into Sunday. Severe storms could produce large hail, damaging wind, and tornadoes during this time frame.
The potential for severe thunderstorms will return to the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles on Thursday. A few isolated thunderstorms may form across the central on Thursday afternoon into the evening. These storms could become severe, with large hail and damaging winds being the primary hazards. Stay up to date with any changes to the forecast as we get closer to Thursday.
Severe thunderstorms will be possible on both Saturday and Sunday across portions of the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. The potential on Saturday is more widespread and Sunday highlights only the east. Since we are still quite a few days out from this weekend, these areas will shift and change over the coming days, so be sure to keep up to date with the severe storm forecasts.
Moisture will increase across the area later this week, peaking on Friday into Saturday. With a low pressure system moving towards the area, this will provide the chances for showers and thunderstorms across the Panhandles. Some of the storms during this time frame could be severe and may produce heavy rain.
Light rain showers are expected to form to the west of the Panhandles and move east during the afternoon into the evening. A few of the rain showers may reach the western Panhandles before dissipating. Only very light rain amounts are expected if any of the rain can get this far east.
Later this week strong to severe weather looks to return to the panhandles. Have a plan in place so you know what you will do if severe weather strikes. Be sure that all members of you family are aware of this plan.
