Hurricane Danny

 
The image below on the left shows the approximate track of Hurricane Danny from its landfall over the Alabama/Florida Panhandle coastal sections and its remnants as it spun slowly across Alabama.  The one on the right below shows the approximate storm total rainfall amounts produced by Hurricane Danny and its remnant as it moved through Alabama. Note the coastal sections!
 

 

Next, here are 4 satellite shots from GOES-8 during near landfall and while the remnants of Danny were moving across parts of Central and Northern Alabama. Note how far away the bands of showers and thunderstorms extend from the center of the storm.
