Hot temperatures and high humidity are forecast to continue across much of northeast Texas into the mid-Mississippi Valley into this weekend with heat advisories in effect. Beginning at noon on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS) Office in Denver/Boulder, CO will commence the provision of new River Forecast Service for The South Platte River near Merino, Colorado (MRIC2). The new forecast services at the Merino, CO gauge location (MRIC2) will replace the forecast services previously provided by the Atwood, CO gauge location (ATWC2), as the Atwood, CO gauge is being discontinued.
