Risks of Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall; Fire Weather Concerns and Record Warmth

Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding risks increase across the center of the nation today. Meanwhile, ongoing thunderstorms and flash flooding will linger along the Gulf Coast states through the evening. On September 27th, 2004, the remnants of Hurricane Jeanne spawned an F2 tornado in Fairfiled County, SC. Four miles North Northeast of Ridgeway on Scout Lane, five mobile homes were destroyed and two frame houses moderately damaged. Unfortunately this tornado took one person's life and injured 13 others.
