2016 will go down in the record books warmer and wetter than normal. The average temperature in 2016 ranked as the 5th warmest on record at Green Bay, Rhinelander and Wausau. Precipitation was above normal, especially across north-central Wisconsin where Rhinelander established a new yearly precipitation record of 42.86 inches. The old yearly record was 42.42 inches set in 1911.
