Areas of Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall Overnight into Monday

Severe thunderstorms with destructive winds, very large hail, a couple tornadoes, and excessive rainfall will move across southern Oklahoma and northern Texas overnight. On Monday, scattered damaging winds, a couple tornadoes, and isolated large hail is possible across the Southeast U.S. into the Upper Ohio Valley. The recent period of cold weather has accelerated ice development on inland lakes and the waters of Green Bay. Since the second week of December, ice has formed on Lake Winnebago and on the southern part of Green Bay.

The ice is still thin in spots, so officials are advising to use extreme caution when venturing out. Ice conditions on any lake can vary from location to location. Remember, even though it may look thick on the surface, moving water from streams, rivers, and springs can cause ice to form unevenly.
