Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall in the Southern Plains; Heat Continues in the West

Strong to severe thunderstorms may bring areas of excessive rainfall and flooding over parts of the southern Plains today through Friday. Hot to dangerously hot temperatures are forecast across portions of the Pacific Northwest and southern Great Basin today. The National Weather Service is experimenting with a new easier to read tabular format of our Great Lakes Open Waters and Nearshore Marine Forecasts. The target audience for these products are users of marine weather information, including the commercial marine community, recreational boating community, and other government agencies including the US Coast Guard. 

These experimental easy to read tabular forecasts are available on the following website:

A side by side comparison of the new format and legacy format is available on this website as well.
