The first week of September across much of northeast Wisconsin was very mild, with near record warmth recorded in Green Bay. The average temperature for the first seven days of the month in Green Bay was 74.6°F, the second warmest first week of September ever recorded, and ten degrees above normal. The warmest first week of September on record is 74.9°F in 1922.

A change in the weather pattern began on the 8th and 9th as upper level winds shifted from the southwest to the northwest. This shift will allow for much cooler air to stream into Wisconsin from Canada. High temperatures on Friday will only be in the 50s to around 60. Lows Friday night will fall well into the 30s across the north, where some frost is possible. A warmup is forecast for next week.
