The Student Volunteer Position: The Student Volunteer Position is an unpaid position, for a term of up to 180 days. While in this position, you can study in any area, including meteorology, hydrology or computer/electronic systems. The position is typically open to college students only, although exceptions can be made for high school seniors with a strong interest in the NWS.
