This Afternoon/Evening Heavy Rain Threat. Slight Risk for Excessive Rainfall over the northern/central and northwestern areas. Confidence: Medium to high: Slight Risk area highlights better confidence. Less confidence across Marginal Risk area Rainfall totals will vary, however, over northern/central and northwestern areas, there is a potential for high-end rainfall totals causing flooding. Overview: Expecting two windows of rain & storms: 1 - Scattered afternoon pop-up showers/storms - could be slow moving/train over the same areas resulting in flash flooding 2 - A broken line of storms approach from the northwest evening/night, dumping more rain on areas that saw heavy rain earlier - leading to a concern for flash flooding. Safety: Ensure your Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) is turned ON. Never cross flooded roadways! ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT! Stay weather-aware and updated as conditions change later today
Easter Weekend Forecast: Few Rounds of Storms! This afternoon and evening: Scattered afternoon pop-up storms develop. Best coverage central/western areas. Monitoring a complex or line of storms approaching from the northwest. Impacts from thunderstorms: Medium to high: Slow-moving storms resulting in areas of flash flooding. Few locally strong/isolated severe storms possible. Tonight. A complex, or broken line of strong storms either weakens and/or departs to the east. Some lingering isolated thunderstorms will remain possible, but could see a lull in activity. Impacts: Medium: Numerous showers/storms expected. Flash flood risk continues overnight. Sunday is trending drier, however remains in low confidence. For now, best chances will be along the coast, but could see a primarily dry day for the I-10/12 corridor on north. Check back for more updates.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and a few storms could become strong to severe. The main concern will be strong to isolated damaging wind gusts. In addition to the wind threat locally heavy rain, cloud to ground lightning, and hail are possible
