Last Map Update: Sun, May 4, 2025 at 10:12:22 pm CDT

Here's a quick look at the week ahead: Drier conditions through Monday. Rain chances return Tuesday and ramp up through midweek. Flash flooding is likely from multiple rounds of strong storms expected from Tuesday night through Thursday night, especially for urban areas along and north of I-10/12. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
Flash flooding is likely across southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi Tuesday night through Thursday. Some areas could see significant, life-threatening flash flooding. Those living near local tributaries or urban and poor drainage areas should prepare for flash flooding. Stay weather aware, have multiple ways to get warnings, and never drive through flooded roadways.
Most likely rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches are forecast for much of the area between Tuesday morning and Friday morning. Most reasonable worst case scenario there is a 10% chance of rain totals exceeding 8 inches along and north of the I-10/12 corridor from Tuesday morning through Friday morning. Safety: Monitor the forecast and have a way to receive warnings. Never drive around barricades. Turn around, don't drown! Be especially careful driving at night. Flooded roads may not be obvious initially.
