...NWS Damage Survey for 03/15/26 Tornado Event - Update 3...

.Update...Updated to include additional tornado tracks, including
Light, AR, and Beech Grove, AR; and information on areas of
straigt-line wind damage. The Kossuth, MS, and Lafe, AR, tornado
tracks were adjusted based on new information.


.Light, AR...

Survey Summary:
A tornado began just south of Highway 412, damaging a grain bin
and snapping a few trees along County Road 300. The tornado then
caused damage to a camper along County Road 208. This tornado
continued east-northeast and damaged an outbuilding on County Road
205 and caused tree damage at the intersection of County Road 205
and 214. This tornado resulted in EF0 damage with 85 mph winds.
The tornado lifted east of County Road 214.

Survey Summary:
This tornado started along Highway 34 W and damaged the roof of a
metal outbuilding and the roof of a residence. Some damage to tree
branches in this area was also noted. The tornado moved eastward
towards Greene Road 125 where additional tree damage occurred
along with minor damage to a barn. This tornado was rated EF0
with 80 winds. The tornado lifted in a wooded area near Greene
Road 125.

Survey Summary:
The tornado touched down in a wooded area west of County Road
138 southwest of Lafe. Tree damage was noted as the tornado
crossed County Road 138 with additional tree damage near County
Road 151. The tornado continued northeast, causing minor roof
damage to a residence near the intersection of Greene Roads
151 and 142. A small barn was also destroyed off Greene Road
142 near Highway 135. The tornado crossed Highway 135 and damaged
a barn just south of Highway 34 E. This damage was consistent
with a 90 mph EF1 tornado. The tornado lifted in a wooded area
north of Highway 34 E.

Survey Summary:
A tornado touched down on county road 420 northwest of Rector,
AR, where tree damage was observed. The tornado continued
northeast, causing minor roof damage to a residence near the
intersection of County Roads 420 and 418. In addition, roof uplift
occurred to a metal outbuilding on the property. Damage was
consistent with a 90 mph EF1 tornado. The tornado lifted shortly
after crossing County Road 418.

Survey Summary:
A tornado touched down just east of Baird between County Roads
316 and 320 overturning multiple center pivots. The tornado
continued into the town of Clarkton, causing roof damage to a
state school, convenience store, and multiple homes along Page
Street just south of W Highway 162. Additional damage was noted
to an outbuilding south of E Highway 162, with debris spreading
into a nearby field. The tornado lifted just before the town of
Gideon.

Survey Summary:
An EF1 tornado started just to the west of the intersection of
County Road 636, causing minor roof damage to a home. The tornado
continued east across County Road 602, County Road 616, County
Road 627, and County Road 628, snapping and uprooting numerous
trees, downing powerlines, damaging fences, and causing minor roof
damage. Continuing east along Highway 2, the tornado caused minor
damage to the roofs of several homes. The tornado then intensified,
causing the most extensive damage at a church, removing part of
the roof and blowing out a few windows. The tornado turned north
and moved into the neighborhood along County Road 630, damaging
several homes, before lifting.



.Piggott, AR, and Rector, AR, and Craighead County, AR Wind
Damage...

Damage in the from west of Piggott into Piggott was determined to
be due to straigh-line winds up to 80 mph. Damage patterns were
divergent and too broad to be classified as a tornado.

The structural damage in the community of Rector near Main St and
13th was also consistent with straight-line winds up to 80 mph
associated with a mesovortex and were not classified as a tornado.

A broad swath of damaging wind affected central and eastern
portions of Craighead County. The Jonesboro Regional Airport
recorded a wind gust of 75 mph at 6:18 PM CDT. Fairly widespread
wind gusts to 60 to 80 mph were likely across the eastern half of
Craighead County. No tornado-related damage was observed in this
area.
