What is the weather normally like on Memorial Day? 

Memorial Day was widely observed across the U.S. starting around the time of WWII. It was observed on May 30th from 1938 to 1970, then the holiday shifted to the last Monday in May from 1971 to present.  

Here is a summary of weather conditions on Memorial Day over the years in the Twin Cities, St. Cloud and Eau Claire.  

In the Twin Cities, measurable rain falls around one third of the time. The high temperature has ranged from as cold as 49 degrees to as hot as 95 degrees on Memorial Day.  The coldest temperature recorded on Memorial Day at Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport was 37 degrees.
