Rain Coming to Drought-Stricken Southern U.S.

A storm tracking across the Southern U.S. will bring heavy to excessive rainfall over portions of west-central Texas into tonight then from central Texas through the central Gulf Coast on Friday. The Southeast U.S. will see heavier rain Saturday. While much of this rainfall will be beneficial to the drought, excessive rainfall may bring areas of flash and urban flooding. Read More >

the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Weak ridging persists between 30.0 and 30.1 inches through early
Saturday as a 30.3 inch high slowly shifts east from the Canadian
Prairies to northwest Ontario and Hudson Bay. Weak troughing of 29.8
inches moves over the lake Saturday night and deepens as low as 29.3
inches by Monday as a stronger low develops over the region.
