A very active spring pattern with tropical concerns across the Pacific. Heavy rainfall will continue to impact Hawaii this weekend. Meanwhile we continue to monitor a developing typhoon that may affect Guam into early next week. KMQT Radar Down for Transmitter Refurbishment Week of Sept 9-13, 2019:

This maintenance will replace the radar's signal processor, as well as replace older breakers and cables with more modern fuses and new cables.

This process is known as the Service Life Extension Program, or SLEP.
