Gusty Winds in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Atmospheric River to Impact the Northwest

Gusty winds are expected from portions of the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast through the night following the system that brought rain to the area. An atmospheric river will move into the Northwest late today into Saturday bringing moderate to heavy rainfall, mountain snow, windy conditions, and high surf to the area over the weekend. As of November 2018, the Marquette National Weather Service (NWS) has added four new river monitoring sites to our Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service (AHPS) page. These gages are owned and operated by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), and the data is shared with the National Weather Service.

 

At this time, these sites are observations only and forecasts will not be provided. They also do not have established flood categories, but we would like to hear from you if you live near these (or any) waterways and see any flooding of infrastructure.
