Dangerous Heat in the Central and Southern U.S.; Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain in the Northern Plains

Dangerous, prolonged heat is expected across portions of the Central and Southeast U.S. through July. Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected over parts of the northern Plains into the upper Mississippi Valley Tuesday, with damaging winds and large hail as the primary threats. Minor coastal flooding expected along the Bayshore Monday from 7PM through midnight. Up to 1 foot inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. At the San Francisco tidal gauge high tide is expected to be 1.04 feet above normal (6.88 ft MLLW) at 9:02 PM PDT Monday. High tide timing varies up to 2 hours earlier or later along the coast and throughout the Bay.
