Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
237 PM EDT Thu Jun 5 2025

.DISCUSSION...

An approaching frontal boundary on Friday looks to stall across the
area through the weekend, and into the early portion of next week
before a stronger cold front pushes through on Tuesday of next week.
This stalled frontal boundary looks to provide daily chances for showers
and thunderstorms across a majority of the area each day starting on
Friday with a warm and moist airmass in place. Much of the shower and
thunderstorm activity looks to be primarily diurnally driven, with afternoon
and evening chances of rainfall being the highest during these time frames.
Given these daily chances of rainfall, there are currently no fire weather
concerns at this time.
