The Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) located at the Redding Airport (KRDD) has been not been properly transmitting weather observations as a result of a communications issue. Both NWS and FAA personnel are working to make the necessary repairs. While the ASOS is not transmitting, NWS meteorologists are able to view the observations for both aviation and climate needs.

This outage is expected to continue at least into the week of February 22-26, 2021. Nearby weather observations at a site co-located at the Redding Airport can be retrieved online.

Redding Airport climate reports continue to be published by NWS Sacramento twice a day during this outage: Redding Climate Report CLIRDD. Past data from earlier in the month can be found online as well: Preliminary Local Climatological Data Redding CF6RDD.

When the communications to the ASOS are properly restored, observations will begin transmitting and can be viewed here.
