Heavy Rain in the Southeast and Portions of the Central Plains; Mountain Snow in the West

Scattered areas of heavy rain continue to produce isolated flash flooding across the coastlines of the central Gulf and Southeast. A storm system will bring mountain snow, locally heavy rain, gusty winds and much cooler temperatures to portions of the western and central U.S. Above average temperatures will advance eastward into the Great Lakes and Northeast today and Monday. Christmas 2023

We are looking for high temperatures in the 40s to possibly lower 50s. Which is about 5 degrees below normal for this time of year. Rain showers will be ending across far northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas Christmas Eve. Historically, there is generally less than a 5 percent chance of 1 inch of snow on the ground on Christmas Day across the area with the greatest chances across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.
