Fire Weather Concerns Persist Across the West; Below Normal Temperatures for the Midwest and East

As a cold front moves through the western states, gusty conditions will bring fire weather concerns through the weekend from the interior Northwest into the Great Basin and Rockies. Elsewhere, temperatures will run ten or more degrees below normal from the Upper Midwest into much of the eastern U.S. Tropical development may bring heavy rainfall to parts of the western Gulf Coast this weekend. Yanush Tornado

 

A tornado touched down 7 miles southwest of Hartshorne in Pittsburg County at approximately 5:30 pm. The tornado was rated an EF2 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale with maximum wind speeds of 125 to 135 mph. The tornado track length was approximately 22 miles with a maximum width of one third mile. This tornado struck Yanush and then lifted 1.3 miles east northeast of Yanush.
