Showers, along with a few strong to severe thunderstorms, are expected from the Great Lakes, New England and southward into the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys. In the wake of this system, a stronger storm is expected to track from the Pacific Northwest, Plains and through the Eastern U.S. this weekend. Yanush Tornado

A tornado touched down 7 miles southwest of Hartshorne in Pittsburg County at approximately 5:30 pm. The tornado was rated an EF2 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale with maximum wind speeds of 125 to 135 mph. The tornado track length was approximately 22 miles with a maximum width of one third mile. This tornado struck Yanush and then lifted 1.3 miles east northeast of Yanush. |
