Severe thunderstorms will be possible late Friday afternoon into Friday night. The primary hazard with the most intense storms will be damaging wind gusts of 60 mph and quarter to golf ball size hail, but tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
Flash flooding remains likely through Saturday morning as several rounds of thunderstorms with heavy rain move through the region. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts possible, are expected over mainly southern and southeastern portions of the area, mainly south of the Interstate 20 corridor. Roads may be flooded or possible closed. If you encounter flood waters, turn around don't drown.
Showers and thunderstorms, with an isolated severe storm possible, capable of producing heavy rain, will move east across the forecast area tonight.
