For Friday afternoon, there is a 10% chance of isolated showers/thunderstorms along the Eastern Sierra crest. For Saturday, there is a 20-30% chance of showers and thunderstorms south of US-50, which could extend into far western NV locations. Cloud-to-ground lightning, gusty outflows to 40 mph, heavy rain, small hail, and temperature drops are all possible. Keep your eyes on the sky and make sure to end your outdoor plans by early afternoon.
Unseasonably warm temperatures will persist through Saturday with afternoon breezes. Other than low chances of showers and thunderstorms in the eastern Sierra and far western NV south of US-50 on Saturday, conditions will stay dry. Low pressure will keep the breezes around for next week with temperatures remaining seasonally mild.
Warmer weather and increasing snowmelt mean that rivers and streams will be running fast and cold! Be sure to always wear a life jacket in and near the water and check the latest weather and water conditions before venturing out to area waterways!
