A late-season atmospheric river pattern is expected to bring prolonged rainfall into western Washington from Sunday afternoon into Tuesday night. Moderate to heavy rainfall is possible. Heaviest of the rain is expected across the Southwest Olympics and Cascades. While the system is a few days away, persons in the affected areas should take steps now to plan for heavy amounts of rainfall early next week.
