Severe thunderstorms will continue tonight from Texas to the Central Gulf Coast, with scattered damaging winds and large hail as the main threats. NWS Amarillo offers a winter weather SKYWARN spotter training class during the months of November and December(sometimes in January if needed). These classes are different than the spring severe weather SKYWARN classes and are also hosted virtually(no in person classes, unless requested).

Criteria for the various winter precipitation and cold weather watches and warnings
Past winter weather events
Winter and cold weather safety
How to measure and report snow and ice to the National Weather Service

All classes are free, but you do have to register for the webinar!
