Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Mobile AL surveyed storm damage in southern Marengo County, near Dixons Mill, and determined that the damage was the result of a tornado. The tornado has been rated an EF-0 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale with estimated maximum winds of 60-70 mph. The tornado damage path was about a half mile long, and 200 yards wide.

The tornado briefly touched down at 108 PM just west Dixons Mill, and was on the ground for less than a minute. Four homes suffered minor damage, and several trees were snapped along its path.

A Tornado Warning was in effect for this area from 1251 PM until 115 PM. A Tornado Watch was in effect from 1134 AM until 703 PM.
