The tornado occurred about 7 miles southwest of Tuscumbia around 530 pm. Its path was about 100 yards wide and extended alittle over 1 mile from southwest to northeast. Destructive winds accompanied the usual funnel shaped cloud and did serious damage. At least 5 frame buildings were destroyed and other damage was incurred.
