National Weather Service meteorologists surveyed the damage in extreme northern Blount County and determined it was the result of an EF-0 tornado.

A tornado track was identified from far northern Blount County (NWS Birmingham) into southern Marshall County (NWS Huntsville). The EF-0 tornado had maximum winds estimated around 85 mph, which uprooted trees along its path. The tornado damage path was 1.94 miles long in the BMX service area, with a width of 150 yards. The stats shown above (path & start/end time) are for the NWS Birmingham part of the track only.
