A National Weather Service Damage Assessment Team has surveyed the storm damage in Pickens County. It has been determined the damage was the result of a tornado. The tornado has been rated an EF-1 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. Damage estimates were consistent with winds around 90 mph.
A tornado touched down in Carrollton near the intersection of Rose Street and County Road 35. The tornado tracked east northeast and lifted in rural areas along Lubbub Creek. Several trees were snapped off or were blown down along the path. A few of the trees fell on homes and caused varying degrees of damage.
