Perry County - Scott Station Tornado

Event Summary

A National Weather Service Damage Assessment Team has surveyed the storm damage in Perry County. It has been determined the damage was the result of a tornado. The tornado has been rated an EF-1 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. Damage estimates were consistent with winds around 95 mph.

The tornado initially touched down just west of County Road 3 about a half mile south of County Road 24. The tornado lifted at County Road 3. Several large pine trees were snapped off and several large hardwood trees were uprooted. The tornado damage path was only 0.1 miles long and was 50 yards wide at its widest point.
