Periods of heavy snow over the past 7 days have created vast amounts of snowfall in the mountains.  Some places have likely received over 100 inches in remote areas of the mountains.  Numerous avalanches have also occurred with portions of I-70 and other roads being closed at times.  According to CAIC some of these avalanches have been 100 Year Events.
