A cold front moving across the region is expected to stall near our southern border but will bring cooler temperatures this afternoon. Mostly cloudy skies and northeast winds around 10-15 MPH will accompany these conditions.
Going to the beach this weekend? You can expect mostly cloudy conditions with highs in the lower 80s. Winds will be weak to moderate today out of the northeast but will increase to moderate and shifts to the east tomorrow. There is a LOW risk for rip currents along gulf facing beaches today. Remember that rip currents can occur any time, especially near piers and jetties.
A little bit cooler tonight with lows ranging in the 70s under mostly cloudy skies and a low 20% chance for showers and storms near the Rio Grande Plains.
Rain chances continue through the weekend, with the best chances Sunday afternoon and Monday. Temperatures will not be as hot as the past couple of days with highs in the 80s and 90s. We'll start warming back up next week.
