Severe Thunderstorms, Excessive Rainfall, and Dangerous Heat Over Parts of the Southern U.S. Today

Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible across much of the Great Plains this afternoon into tonight where a few tornadoes, damaging winds, and isolated very large hail are probable. Flood Watches are in effect today into tonight for parts of northeast Texas into western Arkansas where excessive rainfall may lead to flash flooding. Thursday: A flat ridge of high pressure aloft will bring quiet weather conditions to our area. The winds will be generally out from the west southwest and breezy especially in the afternoon. The skies will be sunny with the afternoon high temperatures around the normal for this time of the year.
