Overview

A group of supercell thunderstorms moving out of far north-central North Dakota merged with each other expanding into a quasi-linear convective system as it trekked across the Devils Lake basin, central Red River Valley into northwest Minnesota during the overnight hours July 22, 2022. This complex produced measured winds as high as 88 mph and a couple of brief tornadoes resulting widespread wind damage across the area.
