June 11th Severe Event Review

In the early morning hours on Friday June 11th 2021 (3:00am) a line of severe thunderstorms moved into the Devils Lake Basin, stretching down toward the James River Valley. These storms where moving rather quickly toward the east around 50-55mph. Warnings were issued from the international border toward South Dakota, with damaging winds being the primary threat. These supplemental reports contain information obtained from Cooperative Weather Observers. The information they provide may include high and low temperatures, precipitation, snowfall, snowdepth, water equivalent of the snow pack, and manual river gage readings. This information is vital for both the development of short term meteorological and hydrologic forecasts as well as assessing longer term climate changes.
