Heavy Rainfall Across the Southwest, Mid-Atlantic and Florida; Fire Weather Concerns in the Northwest and Alaska

Heavy to excessive rainfall may bring flooding to parts of Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia today. Recently burned areas will be particularly vulnerable to flash flooding. Except for the far north, and across northern Door county where lake effect snow bands dropped nearly two feet of snow a few weeks ago, below normal snowfall has been noted across the area. Here are highest and lowest seasonal totals through January 31st. Normal snowfall through January 31st ranges from 25 to 30 inches across central and east-central Wisconsin to around 40 inches across the north.
