...SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM CONTINUES OVER THE OHIO VALLEY...

A COMBINATION OF SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN CONTINUE ACROSS THE 
REGION TONIGHT.  PRECIPITATION IS FALLING IN THE FORM OF SNOW 
GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM CINCINNATI TO 
CHILLICOTHE...WITH A MIXED BAG OF PRECIPITATION TO THE SOUTH.  
ACROSS NORTHERN KENTUCKY...THE PREDOMINANT PRECIPITATION TYPE IS 
FREEZING RAIN.

THE LARGEST ACCUMULATIONS HAVE BEEN IN THE INTERSTATE 70 
CORRIDOR...FROM RICHMOND...TO DAYTON TO COLUMBUS.  IN ADDITION TO 
SNOWFALL FROM THE FRIDAY NIGHT STORM...ESTIMATED TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS 
AS OF 10 PM TONIGHT ARE AS FOLLOWS...

COLUMBUS AND CENTRAL OHIO...11 TO 16 INCHES
DAYTON AND THE MIAMI VALLEY...7 TO 12 INCHES
RICHMOND AND THE WHITEWATER VALLEY...6 TO 10 INCHES
WEST CENTRAL OHIO...5 TO 9 INCHES

ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OVERNIGHT WILL RANGE FROM 2 TO 4 INCHES 
IN WEST CENTRAL OHIO...WITH 3 TO 6 INCHES ACROSS THE I-70 CORRIDOR.

ACROSS FAR SOUTHERN OHIO AND NORTHERN KENTUCKY...A DANGEROUS ICING 
EVENT WAS IN PROGRESS.  ICE ACCUMULATIONS WERE UP TO ONE INCH... 
DOWNING NUMEROUS TREES AND POWER LINES.  POWER OUTAGES AND ROAD 
CLOSURES WERE REPORTED IN THE MAYSVILLE AND PORTSMOUTH AREAS.  

SNOW OR ICE EMERGENCIES WERE IN EFFECT FOR MANY COUNTIES ACROSS 
NORTHERN KENTUCKY...AND SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL OHIO.  SOME ROADS ARE 
NEARLY IMPASSABLE DUE TO SNOW AND/OR ICE COVER.  IN ADDITION...GUSTY 
NORTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 25 MPH ARE CREATING SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND 
DRIFTING OF SNOW.  TRAVEL IS NOT ADVISED OVERNIGHT.  PRECIPITATION 
WILL GRADUALLY TAPER OFF DURING THE DAY MONDAY.
