Heavy Rainfall Threat for Mid-Atlantic into Southern New England; Fire Weather Hazards for the West

Heavy rain and isolated severe thunderstorms may cause flash flooding in the northern Mid-Atlantic today. The Mid-Atlantic and Southeast heatwave is slowly easing, while cooler, drier air spreads across the Central and Eastern U.S. for the start of August. EXAMINATION OF DAMAGE NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF SHAMROCK AND MORROW-
COZADDALE ROAD SUGGESTS THAT AN F0 BRIEFLY TOUCHED DOWN.
THE DAMAGE CONSISTED OF A METAL SHED THAT WAS DAMAGED ALONG WITH
NUMEROUS LARGE LIMBS DOWNED. F0 WIND SPEEDS ARE FROM 40 TO 72 MPH.
