Heavy Great Lakes Snow through Friday; Extreme Cold and Potential for Major Winter Storm Late Week into this Weekend

Multiple clipper systems will bring cold temperatures and enhance lake-effect snow downwind of the Great Lakes. An arctic blast will bring frigid temperatures accompanied with gusty winds that may lead to dangerous wind chills beginning in the Northern Plains Thursday before expanding to the South and East. ...MICROBURST CONFIRMED IN ROBERTSON COUNTY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS CONFIRMED THAT A MICROBURST CAUSED 
DAMAGE OVER ROBERTSON COUNTY ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON...JUNE 3 BETWEEN 
430 PM AND 435 PM. THE MAJORITY OF THE DAMAGE WAS LOCATED TO THE 
NORTHEAST OF MOUNT OLIVET. SEVERAL HOMES SUSTAINED ROOF DAMAGE AND 
THE LOSS OF VINYL SIDING. ONE HOME HAD A SECOND STORY WINDOW WITH 
BROKEN GLASS WITH THE WINDOW FRAME BLOWN INWARDS. SEVERAL BARNS HAD 
OUTER WALLS COLLAPSED WITH THE LOSS OF METAL ROOF PANELS. THESE 
BARNS APPEARED TO BE OLDER AND POORLY CONSTRUCTED. NUMEROUS TREES 
SNAPPED NEAR THE TRUNK OR COMPLETELY UPROOTED. WIND GUSTS WERE 
ESTIMATED BETWEEN 80 AND 85 MPH.
