THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON OH HAS CONFIRMED A
TORNADO NEAR 2 ENE BUENA VISTA IN SCIOTO COUNTY OHIO ON JUNE 4TH
2014.

AFTER FURTHER REVIEW OF PHOTOS TAKEN DURING THE DAMAGE
SURVEY...THE BEGINNING AND ENDING LAT/LON COORDINATES HAVE BEEN
SLIGHTLY MODIFIED FROM THE EARLIER STATEMENT. 

THE MAJORITY OF THE DAMAGE OCCURRED ALONG A RELATIVELY NARROW
PATH...GENERALLY LESS THAN 100 YARDS...ALTHOUGH THERE WERE SOME
SPORADIC AREAS OF WIDER DAMAGE. THE DAMAGE WAS SITUATED ALONG A
ONE MILE NORTHEAST TRACK...BEGINNING FROM AROUND A HALF MILE
NORTHEAST OF THE INTERSECTION OF US 52 AND UPPER TWIN CREEK-ROCKY
FORK ROAD.

THE MOST SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE OCCURRED WITHIN THE VALLEY ALONG
UPPER TWIN CREEK-ROCKY FORK ROAD...ALTHOUGH SPORADIC TREE DAMAGE
WAS NOTED ALONG A NARROW LINE IN THE HEAVILY WOODED AREAS RISING
UP ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VALLEY. SOME TREE DAMAGE WAS VISIBLE FROM
A DISTANCE ON BOTH THE SOUTH AND NORTH SIDE RIDGE LINES...AND
THESE AREAS WERE USED TO ESTIMATE THE BEGINNING AND ENDING POINTS
OF THE TORNADO.

DAMAGE PRIMARILY CONSISTED OF NUMEROUS DOWNED BRANCHES AND TREES
ALONG UPPER TWIN CREEK-ROCKY FORK ROAD. SOME MINOR SIDING AND ROOF
DAMAGE OCCURRED TO SEVERAL RESIDENCES ALONG THE PATH WITH MORE
SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO SOME OUTBUILDINGS. THE STRONGEST WINDS WERE
ESTIMATED TO HAVE OCCURRED ALONG THE NORTHERN PORTION OF THE VALLEY
WHERE 4 TO 5 LARGE...HEALTHY TREES WERE COMPLETELY UPROOTED. THIS
DAMAGE WAS CONSISTENT WITH AN EF0 TORNADO...WITH MAXIMUM WINDS OF
80 MPH.

FOR REFERENCE...THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE CLASSIFIES TORNADOES INTO
THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:

EF0...WIND SPEEDS 65 TO 85 MPH.
EF1...WIND SPEEDS 86 TO 110 MPH.
EF2...WIND SPEEDS 111 TO 135 MPH.
EF3...WIND SPEEDS 136 TO 165 MPH.
EF4...WIND SPEEDS 166 TO 200 MPH.
EF5...WIND SPEEDS GREATER THAN 200 MPH.
