Snow Squalls May Impact New Year's Eve Travel from the Great Lakes to the Mid-Atlantic; Heavy Rain & Isolated Severe Thunderstorms in Southern California

Snow squalls are likely to cross the Lower Great Lakes this evening and the Ohio Valley through the interior Northeast/northern Mid-Atlantic overnight, before potentially reaching the I-95 corridor from D.C. to New York City early New Year’s Day morning. Location...4 miles NE of Marysville in Union County, OH Date...April 12 2019 Estimated Time...857 AM EDT Estimated Maximum Wind Speed...70-75 mph Lat/Lon...40.2899N/83.3017W * Fatalities... 0 * Injuries...0 ...Summary... Survey team viewed damage in the White Stone Road area near Cunningham farms. Damage to a barn, large trees, and several other small structures occurred, in addition to damage to the tops of grain bins. All damage was unidirectional and indicative of straight line winds. Other areas of straight line wind damage was also observed outside of this specific area.
